1. reckless [?rekl?s] adj.

adj. 魯莽的,不計后果的,無所畏懼的

recklessly adv.魯莽地;不顧一切地

辨:reckless,careless,absent-minded和heedless

reckless意為“魯莽的,不計后果的”,側(cè)重于魯莽,做事不計后果。例:He is reckless of danger to jump into river.(他不顧危險跳進河里。)

careless意為“粗心大意的,馬虎的”,指做某事精力不集中而造成錯誤或損失。例:It was careless of me to leave the windows open.(忘記關(guān)窗,我真是太粗心了。)

absent-minded意為“心不在焉的,健忘的”,指某人由于精力不集中或健忘總是丟三落四。例:The absent-minded boy is always losing his school bag.(這個心不在焉的男孩老是弄丟他的書包。)

heedless意為“不留神的,不注意的”,指對某事掉以輕心或陷入沉思而沒有注意到周圍的情況,后面通常接介詞of。例:She is heedless of the potential danger.(她沒有注意到潛在的危險。)

2. reclaim [r??kle?m] v.(reclaims, reclaiming, reclaimed, reclaimed)

構(gòu)詞:re(回,向后)+ claim(叫喊)→ 要求歸還,拿回

restore意為“修復(fù),還原”,多指修復(fù)建筑或工藝品,使其恢復(fù)原狀;也可指健康或能力的恢復(fù),恢復(fù)到以前的狀態(tài)。例:Proper exercise and a light diet will help you restore your full health.(適當(dāng)?shù)倪\動和清淡的飲食會幫助你完全康復(fù)。)

recall意為“回想起,記起”,指想方設(shè)法回想起已經(jīng)遺忘的事物,比remember更加文雅。例:She could not recall what she did just now.(她想不起剛剛自己做過什么。)

remember意為“記得,記牢”,含義較廣泛,多指無意識地回憶起往事或通過主觀努力去記憶。例:Do you still remember my name?(你還記得我的名字嗎?)
