v. (突然或猛烈地)撕破，扯開;突然拉開，扯掉，剝?nèi)?(使)撕裂，(使)劃破

n. (織物、紙張等)撕開的大口子，裂縫

辨：rip和tear

rip意為“(突然或猛烈地)撕破，扯開”，側(cè)重指猛然用力把布料等物撕開，也可指用粗暴手段把某物撕裂。例：He ripped the letter in two pieces.(他把信撕成了兩半。)

tear意為“撕掉，撕破”，普通用詞，指有意或無意地把布或紙等撕開。例：I tore my dress on a nail.(我的裙子被釘子劃破了。)
