The traditional Chinese diet is mainly composed of plant foods with abundant dietary fiber,which,on the other hand,leads to a high reliance on grains,a dearth of animal-based foods,dairy products and fruits.As people's living standards have steadily improved,so has their diet structure,which has gradually shifted to an overabundance of meat and oil from livestock while decreasing the consumption of foods like coarse grains and potatoes,which can easily result in an imbalanced diet and new nutritional issues.

The"Mediterranean Diet"has gained popularity as a healthy eating plan in recent years.Therefore,does China have a localized,healthy diet?Zhejiang Province,Jiangsu Province,and Guangdong Province are the representatives of the "Oriental Healthy Diet Mode"in the south of the Yangtze River and southeast coastline regions of China, which is close to the balanced diet recommended by experts.The diet of all the above regions is characterized byvariety,insipidity,abundance of fruits,vegetables,bean products,aquatic products including fish,shrimp,etc.,and daily dairy products.Furthermore,residents in this region have high levels of physical activity.
