當(dāng)我站在越南的一個(gè)城市的馬路邊時(shí)我明白的這個(gè)道理。我的目的地，一家餐館，我的丈夫湯姆正站在對(duì)面等我。我餓了，聞到了食物的香味。但是餐廳卻似乎好像有好幾英里遠(yuǎn)。街上擠滿了自行車，摩托車，汽車，卡車和公共汽車。沒有劃分為兩車道的交通道，黃色的車道標(biāo)志顯然只是表明你走在鋪平的道路上。人們走走停停，轉(zhuǎn)身并且越過中心線。

交通在同一車道兩邊流過，更多的交通是從人行道上到街上。即使當(dāng)信號(hào)燈變紅，交通不斷流動(dòng)而司機(jī)完全不顧信號(hào)燈，從前后左右，各個(gè)角度沖到我面前。
